My Easy Summer Beauty Routine

When it comes to a daily beauty routine, mine is very simple. No over the top products and definitely no makeup, so i count on the simplest products to give a natural glow for my skin and hair.

I always moisturize my skin all year round, but for the summer in particular, I use Vaseline ‘cocoa glow’ because it indeed gives a bronze glow with a scent that makes you feel like you’re on the beach.

When it comes to my morning facial routine, I am always in search of the product that suits my sensitive skin the most, and this time I am using The Body Shop organic ‘Nutriganic’ face and eye cream. Although it is not an anti-aging cream, its an all natural moisturizer that doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. read more

Product Review: Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula

I am in constant search for the perfect hair product, the one that will end my frantic curly hair misery. A year or so ago I was seeking out a coconut based hair product, as they are known to decrease hair loss, reduce split ends, and give an overall shine. I found Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula – Gel Curl Activator. It wasn’t all that bad, it gave my hair a glossy coat and smelled great.

After a while, the tube was almost over and I moved on to another product. However recently I went back and searched for another coconut based hair care and found the one and only Palmer’s, except this time the Coconut Oil Formula was Moisture Gro. Of course I grabbed it and rushed back home to try it. read more

Braid Craze

One of the big hair trends of the moment is the braid. On the runway, they range from perfectly neat to boho messy, but that doesn’t mean you should match the braid to the occasion. You can wear a neat braid to the office or a casual night out the same way you can wear a messy one to a formal event. What is great about this trend is that it can save you from a potentially bad hair day while still looking stylish. If you are doing it at home, and don’t want to risk a failed elaborate braid, casually take your hair back into a low loose braid. Or better yet, take a strand of hair on either side of your head, twist into a braid and tie at the back, and you have the perfect crown.┬áTake a look at these pictures for inspiration. read more

Product Review: Oil Replacement Therapy

I’m quite an addict when to comes to hair products; having curly hair and wanting to tame it drives me to try almost every product I can get my hands on. Today I will face off Pantene and Dove Oil Replacement therapy.

Untitled-2_wm

Pantene was a miracle worker for me when it was first released. It helped relax my curls into waves, not to mention its glorious scent. However what would bother me was the texture which was way too sticky on my hands, even after I’d wash them I would still feel the product. When washing my hair, it would be sticky after the first rinse off, which means the hair didn’t absorb it, but merely was coated by it, so technically it wasn’t ‘therapy’. This oil replacement product was my go to choice until I recently tried Dove for the same hair care series. Funny thing is, when i reached for it on the supermarket aisle, I actually thought it was Pantene! To my luck when I got home, it turned out to be Dove. The scent isn’t as delish as Pantene, but the results are equal if not greater. What I prefer about this product is that it isn’t sticky, you can easily distribute it over your hair without the risk of it being more dense on some parts and barely there on others. Your hands come out clean and so does your hair when you wash it afterwards. read more

Shiny Hair Secret

What if I told you that the secret to healthy shiny hair is in your kitchen cabinet?

Quick-Tips-For-A-Shiny-Hair1

Yep, olive oil and honey make for a perfect combination for your hair, be it frizzy, dull, rough, or even if it has dandruff and split ends. Olive oil has a fatty acid that coats each hair and protects it from being damaged with the use of hair dryers, flat or curling irons, and helps it look shiny. Honey is a conditioner and keeps the scalp healthy.
