Restaurant Review: The Cheesecake Factory

The Cheesecake Factory opened its doors in Verdun, Lebanon a month ago after a long wait, and many fans of this chain restaurant including myself were super excited. The 2 floor structure with indoor and outdoor seating boasts the classic Cheesecake factory decor with dim lighting and signature cheesecakes on display.

No reservations can be made in advance, so the night I visited with friends, although quite late in the evening, we had to wait a good 45 minutes before being seated, which is expected a couple of days after the official opening.

The menu is lengthy and since a choice had to be made, we finally decided on the following dishes, along with Margaritas, beer and soft drinks.

Spicy Chicken Chipotle Pasta for 34,000 L.L. is penne pasta with honey glazed chicken, asparagus, peppers, peas, garlic and onion with spicy chipotle parmesan cream sauce. Not your traditional pasta and certainly not for the faint hearted as it is really spicy.

Southwest Chicken Sandwich for 27,500 L.L. which contained grilled chicken breast in a baguette with crushed avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeno peppers, and chipotle mayo, served with fries or a salad. At first glance the sandwich might seem a big small but it is really filling and the ingredients are very generous, so you basically don’t open the bread to find a measly piece of chicken like we are unfortunately used to at many other diners.

The Chicken Madeira for 38,000 L.L. was the most popular choice at our table with 3 dishes ordered. It is sauteed chicken breast with fresh asparagus, melted mozzarella, with fresh mushroom and Madeira sauce served with mashed potato. The chicken was delicious and so easily cut because of its tenderness. The mashed potatoes however were a bit dry, I expected them to be more creamy.

Miso Salmon for 46,000 L.L. is marinated salmon with peas, rice and miso sauce, a healthier choice.

Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake for 13,250 L.L. is TO DIE FOR, and a must order even if you feel stuffed! It comes a close 2nd to my ultimate sin which is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake I tried at The Cheesecake Factory in Honolulu.

Dream Extreme Cheesecake (Oreo) for 13,250 L.L. also yummy for Oreo lovers.

Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake for 13,250 L.L. which I didn’t particularly like, maybe because I’m not a huge fan of anything red velvet.

I definitely recommend dropping by The Cheesecake Factory with a full appetite and a group of friends willing to share their dishes. I will be heading back there soon, because it is certainly not a one time affair!

happy wheels 2
