This post marks my 100th since I started blogging in April, so much in such a short time, which gives me a chance to reflect back on the topics I wrote about and share with you why I love it.
I love to read and get lost in imagination, its an escape. In my case, my passion for reading started at a young age and translated into writing. I used to write short stories when I was a little kid, and ever since I write down my thoughts in a journal. I used to illustrate those stories and draw flip books of fashion sketches as well as painted and did chalk drawings on the sidewalk. The love for creativity and freedom of expression both in writing and drawing were born with me and developed through the years. My hands are the link to my soul.
For me, art is like breathing, and without it I cannot live. I am passionate about art in all its forms. I am an architect who loves to create and build. I am a dreamer who imagines Utopian urban landscapes. Inside my mind is a chaotic mess of words, images, colors. I think in shapes and schizophrenic lines, but in my head they make sense. I analyze and criticize myself and the world around me. I design avant garde fashion and futuristic cities just as much as I dwell on gilded antique furniture and vintage clothing and jewelry. I watch independent movies and old black and white films. I laugh at comedies and cry at the theater. I listen to classic rock and heavy metal, jazz and classical composers. I am an artist but I don’t tolerate randomness, I paint in a methodical manner, I am a perfectionist. Inside I have two polar opposites but it works well for me.
Few people know the real me, but what they do know is I always stand up for what is right and I state my opinion even if no one agrees. Has it caused me trouble, yes. Would I rather sugar coat things, no. I wear my heart on my sleeve and the cruel world will never change me. I will never act a certain way to please someone, anyone.
My blog is a window into my inner self and my thoughts. I have set up many of the topics that interest me and will fill them in time. I have blogged so far about trends, my personal style, food, events I attend, pet peeves, tips and tricks, travel and beauty.
I will continue to blog about what is important to me. It is difficult enough being a girl in this world: Wear this not that, apply makeup to cover up your flaws, hide your body if it isn’t perfect. The last thing we need is being told what to do, and I will continue defying those who say it.
I hope you have enjoyed my blog so far, if you have any topics you would like me to discuss, let me know!
