One of the joys of the holidays is seeing little children around the Christmas tree opening up their gifts, and anyone with kids in their direct or extended family has experienced this fuzzy feeling. That being said, shopping for children can sometimes be hard, especially for those with little experience with kids. More often than not, gifts become redundant, like pink dresses for girls and blue pant suits for boys. For that reason, I compiled a list of gift ideas for babies and small children that I find functional and helpful for the winter season.
A hat and mittens for the cold days, especially when its raining and windy, the extra protection for their little ears is essential, as is warmth for their hands.
A fleece coat for daily wear, easy to wash and dry.
A more proper coat for special occasions.
The overall which is a life saver, trust me, my daughter spent last winter in one of these in fleece. It is very practical for the mom and the baby, just zip and go.
Christmas jammies or other winter themes such as snowflakes or snowmen, the thicker the fabric the better.
Holiday bibs or even burp cloths.
Little booties or house slippers to keep their feet warm.
A quilt for extra bedding.
A hooded towel.
A reindeer or santa claus plush toy.
Traditional Christmas books such as ‘The Night Before Christmas’, ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’, ‘The 12 Days Of Christmas’ or ‘A Christmas Carol’. Some books come in special simplified versions with sounds and music, or if you choose to bring a book, parents can read out loud to their little ones.
