As summer approaches, so does the hot weather, implying sandal season. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for a woman’s feet to be properly cared for. I see cracked soles and dry toes so many times, its unattractive and gives off a vibe of someone who isn’t too keen on hygiene.
I am a freak when it comes to being properly groomed, and I am going to share with you my foot care ritual. I do this all year long and not just in summer, and I recommend you do the same for soft feet.
First and foremost, get yourself a pumice stone from the supermarket, they are inexpensive and last you for at least 6 months if not a year. Use it to scrub the dead skin off your heels and the sides of your feet.
Next, use a foot paddle to scrub the entire foot including toes. This can be used instead of the pumice stone but I personally prefer using both. The paddle has a rough side similar to the stone and a smoother side to be used after scrubbing.
Afterwards, sit in the tub and massage a foot scrub of your choice and let it sink in for about 10 minutes. This procedure can be done once a week. I use The Body Shop’s Peppermint Purifying Foot Mask. Rinse once done.
Last but not least, after drying off, rub some lotion all over your feet, please do not skip this step, as your feet need to stay hydrated. I am currently using Vaseline’s Intensive Rescue Repairing Moisture. I also recommend the skin care line from St. Ives, Jergen’s or Avene from the pharmaceutical range, all of which I have tried before. Do not forget to apply the same lotion the next morning before leaving home.
Follow this routine and you will love the results!
