Grand Hills Christmas Festivities

Grand Hills hotel in Broummana hosted a Christmas ceremony a couple of weeks ago with the children from the NGO Afel, which included the lighting of the Christmas tree, a musical performance by Gabriel Abdul Nour, and a Peppa Pig play for kids! Tracy and I attended and the smile on all the children’s faces was priceless, from the Christmas carols to meeting Santa, the event was a prelude to the festive season.

Christmas Parade At Beirut Souks

Yesterday afternoon, 100 Santa Claus walked around Downtown Beirut in an incredible parade around Beirut Souks and the Christmas village. The marching band played all kinds of Christmas carols while swaying from side to side in a slow motion enough for everyone to listen, see, and take pictures. My daughter used her daddy’s head as a drum to show her excitement, and I couldn’t stop smiling, laughing and dancing, I absolutely loved the ambiance!

Make sure to drop by the Christmas Village in Fakhry Bey street in Downtown Beirut until the 29th of December, and add me on Snapchat (username: stylememaria) to get a glimpse of many major events happening around! read more

Opening Of Sapa Beirut

Sapa is a Peruvian restaurant and bar that opened its doors a few days ago in Ashrafieh, by the creators of Cinco lounge. On its pre-opening night, and to introduce us to the cuisine, a buffet table was set up with many types of bites, and specialty drinks were served among them was the Pisco from Peru. I must say that I had assumed Peruvian food would be different, but my preconception was fixed when I saw the neatly set table with delicate wraps of veggies, cheese, and seafood. The burgers were my favorite though, they made me forget my aversion to meat! I would recommend Sapa for a date night or for a small group, go ahead and enjoy the many music genres played by the DJ, the dim lighting and romantic ambiance, the special drinks and unique food! read more

BMC Christmas Initiative

Its heartbreaking how many children don’t have the minimum necessities, much less Christmas gifts, so this holiday season Smile In A Box and Bellevue Medical Center (BMC) are spreading joy and making children smile! I am happy to contribute to this cause, and an empty box was sent to me by BMC to fill with various items such as stationary, hygiene products, food, clothes and so on, for a little boy aged 3 to 5 years. The concept is quite simple, helping to fill an otherwise empty gift box under a child’s tree with a small budget we can spare! read more

H&M Flagship Store

H&M opened its flagship store in Verdun last week, with versatile styles in a large scale 2 floor setup.

One of the collections that caught my eye was the bohemian style which I can relate to, as I love the 60s and 70s era with fringes, loose fits, and earthy feminine dresses with chunky accessories.

Also available is what I call the lumberjack shirt which I’m also a huge fan of, and pairs well with boyfriend jeans.

There is also a holiday section just in time for Christmas, with comfy sweaters and pjs for him and her. read more

Super Event At The Smallville Hotel

The Smallville Hotel in Badaro kicked off the holiday season with their ‘Super Event’ last week. The Christmas tree at the entrance of the hotel was lit up in the presence of the minister of tourism Michel Pharaon, and the night marked the opening of The Social restaurant and bar.

The set up was beautiful, the space was dim with minimal lighting which accented the red ornaments.

Like every event at The Smallville, this night was unique and definitely placed the hotel on the map, so why not pass by for a bite and a drink at The Social? read more

An Afternoon At Kidz Mondo

I have seen ads about Kidz Mondo, but I never imagined it to be as developed as it is when I first visited last weekend. Everything is tailor made for kids, and they have the priority while parents take the back stage. At the main gate, I found the ticketing booths like those at the airport, with a boarding pass to access all the activities as the one below.

My daughter is 2 years old and therefore in the toddler category. She was given a special sticker with T+ written on it, which meant that she could have access to the rooms that have a matching T+ sticker at their door. She really enjoyed the occupations she participated in! A food court is also available with a variety of restaurants for kids and parents to take a break and continue the fun. read more
